Greetings!  We have only until Friday and then we all get a 3 week break!  Woohoo!  On Friday we'll fly down to Seattle, get in late, and spend 2 nights in a nice hotel downtown just the 3 of us.  We'll also spend about a week chasing around the state visiting family, which we're excited about (the visiting, not the chasing!).  Our time with family is so limited we have to really make the most of it. Then after a week of visiting we'll fly to Hawaii with Tam's folks for a week in Maui!  Wow!  We've never been before and are super excited.  It is a humongous gift to us from them to get to go.

Claire continues to grow up super fast.  Sugtuq (she is tall)!  Her top teeth are just starting to show under the gums but she has been a trooper about it.  I put some more photos up, just a few classics, here for easy viewing.  She is not exactly crawling, but she is very mobile.  She sort of does a highly evolved pivot thing that somehow moves her pretty quickly around the room, especially backward.  She loves her solid foods, except pears and peaches.  She despises those and makes hysterical faces when tasting them.  I might have to put some video up sometime so you can see it for yourselves.

Basketball has started up again here, we just had our first games.  I'm not coaching this year, but sometimes at the games I forget.  I do too much shouting of instructions and need to keep my mouth shut!  J  It is a lot of fun, and a huge teaching opportunity on basketball and pretty much everything else as well.  We have three local guys coaching this year (yes, we have both a high school boys and a girls team!).  Our high school teams only suited up 5 players each this last weekend, so that makes it rough, but they are talented and will improve a lot.  It will be cool to see how well they do come tournament time in March.  I sit in the stands like a proud papa taping the games and being the loud kassaq.

I finished my classes last week and did fine.  I most enjoyed the stuttering class.  It is pretty fascinating stuff, even if I might use it here only rarely.  I have 3 semesters and 2 summer internships to go, concluding in late summer 2008.  Then I'll have to pass a national licensing exam and I can start working for LKSD.  I'm excited for that day to come!

What else?  The M's traded away Chris Snelling, a young, oft-injured guy I was really really pulling for and excited about, and in return received...oh its too bleak to talk about here.  Check www.ussmariner.com if you want to be depressed about it.  Um...that might be it.  The baby is waking up from a 3 hour nap!
