Tammy and I bought 2 Old Town Otter kayaks, 2 paddles, and 2 pfds from REI about a month after moving to Kasigluk.  They are 9.5 feet long, and about 28 inches at the widest point.   Little!  But they have been an awesome way to "get away" from our little island home.  We had thought of buying kayaks for a while, but weren't sure if we could afford it, and wanted to see what the local water was like before committing.  Once we got here we saw that the water is FLAT and SLOW and we couldn't wait any longer!  Now we're hooked and we'll probably buy 1 or 2 more kayaks next year if we stay here.  Click here for more on the story of how we got the kayaks.
